be still
There are moments when something within us stirs — a quiet recognition that life is inviting us deeper. Deeper into presence. Deeper into relationship. Deeper into what is sacred and already alive. To The Root exists for those moments. Here, we listen for the Divine not as something distant or abstract, but as something encountered in breath and body, in silence and story, in the living world that holds us in kinship.
Wayne Randolph is a fellow traveler, a companion on the inward journey, and the founder of To The Root. His life has been shaped by a quiet yet profound trust that the sacred is always near — woven into breath, silence, and the living kinship of all things.
With a background in teaching theology and leadership, Wayne has spent years guiding others not just in classrooms, but through the landscapes of 22 different countries. He’s led students into the heart of service and learning, from the highlands of Guatemala to the shores of the Dominican Republic, always inviting them to see the sacred woven into everyday encounters.
Wayne is rooted in the lineage of the Narrative Enneagram, having studied with Helen Palmer, Marion Gilbert, and Peter O’Hanrahan. He offers the Enneagram not as a rigid system, but as a gentle map—one that helps us notice the stirrings of fear, anger, and longing in the body, and choose a more compassionate path.
Near the completion of his formation in the Art of Spiritual Direction through Stillpoint, Wayne now blends the wisdom of Christian mystics with insights from Sufi and Buddhist traditions and the living world. He believes the sacred is found not in distant doctrines, but in the kinship of all things—in breath and stillness, in the natural world, and in the stories we share.
At To The Root, Wayne offers more than guidance. He offers a space of return — a place where you can remember that wholeness is not something to be achieved, but something to be lived.
To The Root exists to help people journey toward wholeness and a deeper connection with the Divine.
In a world shaped by speed, noise, and reactivity, many of us sense that something essential has been lost — not broken, but buried. To The Root creates intentional spaces where people can slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with what is most true.
Through Enneagram equipping, Spiritual Direction, and SoulLab Excursions, To The Root supports individuals, couples, and small groups who are navigating transition, deconstruction, anxiety, anger, or a longing for more meaningful connection. Our work is not about fixing what’s wrong, but about increasing awareness — of body, mind, patterns, and presence — so that new possibilities can emerge.
At the heart of To The Root is a simple belief:
the sacred is not separate from everyday life.
It is found in breath and body, in silence and conversation, in wild landscapes and unexpected places. Whether sitting across from one another in spiritual direction, mapping inner patterns through the Enneagram, or practicing mysticism in nature or the city, we learn to recognize the Divine already at work within and among us.
To The Root draws from contemplative Christianity while remaining spacious enough to welcome wisdom from global and mystical traditions. It is a place for seekers, questioners, and those who sense that wholeness is possible — even now.
You don’t need to have the answers.
You only need the willingness to listen.
